Project Vertical

A mountain-sized congratulations to our Project Vertical winners Sarah Lee, Nate Dodge, Amanda Gehrich and Bennett Fisher! Thanks again to everyone who participated and shared their stoke for gear and the outdoors!

Project Vertical Contest

Behind every piece of gear we build, there is a minimum of 100,000 vertical feet of testing done by our team of guides to validate each design (it’s our 100K Promise – check it out!). But that number is just the beginning. We partnered with BACKPACKER and Garmin for Project Vertical and reached over 100 million vertical feet of testing in 2018 by guides and climbers on Mt. Rainier and beyond.

Four lucky winners were selected from the contest and won a 2019 4-day Mt. Rainier climb with RMI Expeditions and received a selection of Bight Gear pieces to put to the test as they train and prep for the climb. They also received Garmin fēnix® watches and inReach® Minis to track their progress and communicate on peaks around the world as they help us continue log vertical beyond 100 million vertical feet.

Stay tuned as we’ll be working with Backpacker to introduce each of the winners and provide regular updates on their progress as the climb gets closer!

Garmin

Bight Gear is excited to be teamed up with Garmin for this project, and testers will use fēnix® 5 Plus series watches and the inReach® Mini to track our progress and communicate on high peaks around the world.
